Okay, so, Nimona is next to spiderverse 1 my fav animation movie. So this year for the trans readaton I decided to get into the graphic novel? Comic? Idk.
You feel the differences and some are better and some are worse. I like when a work improves on the original like the movie does but still keeps its own charm. This comic, still after being older than the movie definitely still has its own perks. I admire that.
I also admire how moved I am, even when the story takes a whole another turn. It almost feels different but still the same. You can see that with characters like Ballister being called Blackheart and not Boldheart. The characters are still on top, the story strikes and the bits between the lines with its symbolism still gets me as a genderqueer person.
That art is so funky. I have no other word for it then funky. It’s easy but can still express a lot of emotions.
However, something that threw me out was the chapters and how disconnected they felt at first but that was just for like the first 40 pages. Then I got around to that.
