The moment I saw this on Goodreads, I couldn’t wait to read it. With a plot that is as derivative as it is I feared I may be disappointed. Far from it! This was a gripping read and the execution of the story was sublime…revealing twists at a time that completely fooled me. As for the closing stages…they turned everything on its head and I felt like I was in a very murky place.
The story is straightforward. Two women who’ve lost everything meet in a support group. They get talking. At some point there discussion about a desire for revenge moves from theoretical to a more practical one. Before you know it, plans are afoot to carry out a murder - but in a way that seems foolproof.
The only problem is, that not everyone is who they say they are.
I can’t say much more about this story without giving away crucial details. Suffice to say, it well and truly broke me from my reading slump and had me desperate to turn the pages and learn exactly what was going on. Thank you Steve Cavanagh.
