The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin

3.0

I rather enjoyed it. It had a bit of a rough start because I feel like it dumps a lot of new words from the setting on the reader in the first chapter or two that eventually get explained later on. I really liked the chapters that broke up the main story early on to give the reader some folk lore stories from the planet's culture. Was not expecting the shift from politics to survival story towards the end but I feel like both are done well. And it took me a moment to realize that the ending was the ending. It just kind of stopped and then the next page was discussing the calendar system. It's not like things hadn't wrapped up by then, and I can imagine what happened next. But it was a little jarring.
