Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield
5.0
A book that surprised me so much, wasn't expecting it in the slightest! The story was immersive, the writing style pristine and completely captivating!
I loved how all the characters came together and each one's purpose and backstory was slowly revealed to us! My most favourite character definitely has to be Robert Armstrong, such an empathetic and kind man! It really pained me seeing his son causing him so much and now that I'm talking about him, I think he got exactly what he deserved in the end!
Also, loooved the mystery element about who the girl actually is, especially in the last few pages, I was on the edge of my seat! Overall, it's a slow read, but I loved the pacing, it felt like a bedtime story!
