The Devil's Pool by George Sand

3.0

The “Devil’s Pool” is a short novella written in the pastoral form of beautiful and innocent peasants with simple lives coping with villainy and danger. It concerns a 28 year old widower going on a short journey with a 16 year old girl and the challenges, both real and possibly supernatural, that they confront. I thought it was fine but lacked any particular depth or richness.
