The Kiss by Jill Dembowski, James Patterson
4.0
Overall, I enjoyed this book. Most parts were good, some parts were great, some parts were not so good (translation: so bad I ended up skimming and skipping a page or two).
First off, what happened to the Wisty in the first three books? She was a lot less...girly. Then she's ready to faint the second a cute boy shows up. From the beginning, I knew Heath was too... PERFECT to be true.
Second, I admire James Patterson's character interconnections, which I did not see coming, although I probably should've) and that got this book another star (well that and his good writing style). But Patterson's attempt at romance was feeble to say the least.
Parts of The Kiss I loved to death, others made me want to hide the book in the back of my shelf and make it think about what it has done. So, I say 4 stars are accurate.
Oh yeah! One more thing. This book leaves the series with a good, solid ending. If James Patterson comes out with a fifth book, I will walk to his house and sit him in a corner so that he can rethink his motives once more. A fifth book is unnecessary, and I think it would be an insult to everything that has been created in the first three books. The Kiss leaves this series straddling the thin line between perfect and way overdoing it.
