Have you ever read a line from a book then promptly had to reread it because it was so beautifully written, the thought so gorgeously expressed, that it feels you with a deep regret for your own lack of writing talent? This happened many, many times in this book.
As someone who has a bit of a background in Chemistry (fine, Chemical Engineering but whatevs, we had a lot of chemistry units), the interweaving of it with his musings and stories is extra special to me.
The only reason I haven’t given this a full 5 stars if because as with all books of essays, I had an uneven enjoyment / adoration of each essay.
