I loved this book, in all its discomfort and uninhibited fucked-up sexuality. The narrator is fiercely unlikeable but the hints of humanity and backstory that shine through absolutely carry the narrative.

As a fat person the way fatness was discussed made me at times uncomfortable, however I feel these discussions were key to the plot and character development.
Ultimately, as it developed and reached its conclusion, this book felt like a growing love letter to food and unapologetic fatness from the perspective of character with a severe eating disorder - which is certainly a rare perspective and one I very much enjoyed reading.

Please steer clear if you find writing about EDs/calories and/or Freudian sexual dynamics (ie mommy kink) triggering. Milk Fed is graphic in its descriptions of both, which is key to its impact but may be difficult to read for many.
