Slade House by David Mitchell

3.0

This book apparently takes place in the universe of another one of this author's books, but not having read the first one certainly wasn't a problem. It's a haunted house story of a sort. The house is more like a spiderweb appearing every 9 years to feed the two rotten spiders who live in it--and rotten they are. I really really wanted to see these two get theirs. The book's told through the pov of the flies, though, each one a different character, though they often have some knowledge by the way of the others, and I was rooting for all of them, making the book a great read.

Slade House definitely deserves a place in the list of Best Bad Houses of fiction.
