Incredible. Previous to picking up this book, I had never heard of this singer. Not only is she an amazing story teller but she is unbelievably talented and I now have a whole new world of music to explore.
Excellent history of Benin, the Fon and Yoruba people, communism in Africa, jazz and so much more. I especially loved the plethora of personal photos that were scattered generously throughout that really helped bring her story to life.
