An excellent analysis of the lingering effects of colonialism on former colonies. The discussion on how, even after colonialism ended, it still effects modern countries in the form of exploitative tourism, wealth disparity, and how people from rich western countries still exploit former colonies by treating them like personal playhouses at the expense of the people living there. There is a wry humor in the way she critiques white people and how they treat/talk about the places they used to colonize, but it is underpinned by a very real and understandable sense of anger over how much exploitation happened and is still happening. It firmly rejects the notion that black people can not govern, pointing out that everything they learned about modern government came from Europe/U.S.
