“the minute we fall silent, someone will fill the silence for us.”
i really loved this. i think it’s a meditation on the distinctions that exist within feminism. how often we get caught up in the empowerment of women without considering the implications of class, as particularly addressed in this book. how women too are impacted by the patriarchy and misogyny in their ideals and mindset and sometimes that means being unable to approach the “fight” in a particular way, being unable to acknowledge deeply rooted ideas that have permeated every aspect of their existence because it might mean destruction of everything they’ve known
a beautifully written story that i would absolutely recommend
