Absolutely phenomenal first volume. Creative monster design and inventive action, incredibly strong and compelling protagonist, and a delicious mystery to dig into. Hopefully the following volumes live up to the promise of this one - it's fascinating. Haven't been this immediately sucked into a new series since Locke & Key or Gail Simone's Clean Room.
