I started this one at 2am when I couldn’t sleep, a classic case of insomnia-induced impulse reading. Some may say this was a mistake but I regret nothing. Sure, my brain fog was extra bad the next day but it was so worth it because I’m fairly certain I have found a new all time favourite book!

I went into this book not knowing all that much and I would highly recommend you do the same. This story really delves deep into societal expectations and the intricacies of humanity, with such raw authenticity. I mean it when I say I have never read anything remotely like this.

I loved this book with my everything, my shadow included ;) The story, the writing, the commentary. Flawless. I laughed. I cried. I absolutely inhaled. This book had me feeling things I don’t have words for.

The playfulness and truth in Mac’s writing is perhaps my new favourite thing and I find myself needing more immediately! I will be obtaining a physical copy of this book as soon as possible so I can highlight and tab the shit out of it.
