Ivanhoe by Walter Scott
4.0
What a glorious old adventure! I’ve always wanted to tackle this one and finally did. Thoroughly enjoyable jaunt through the lands of knight arrants, damsels in distress...and Robin Hood & his merry men. I expected this to be a slog to get through, but it moved quickly (for the most part) and I was drawn into the tale. The only misfortune was the abundance of antisemitism which Scott tried to counteract a bit by making Rebecca the true heroine of the story. Escapism goals met.
