Paper Princess by Erin Watt
4.0
This was a fun addictive new adult romance, I enjoyed this book and I’m glad I finally picked it up because it has been on my list since it came out and everyone was speaking about it.
This book is problematic and does deal with a lot of issues, I go in to new adult romance books with open mind. There are a lot of trope this books falls in to. Enemies to lovers, controlling overtones and sexist comments. I think this is all set up in the first book so the characters can grow. It’s pure entertainment for me and I don’t take this as healthy lifestyles or relationships.
Trigger warnings : losing a parent, underage sexual content (17), physical abuse, sexual assault, attempted rape, underage drinking, drug use, addiction, a lot of slut shaming, and a lot of toxic male masculinity. So please use caution before going into this book.
Ella being thrust in to the world of the Richie rich Royals after spending her time struggling to make ends meet by stripping. It was entertaining, fast paced and smutty.
The characters were great my favourite was definitely Easton and I’m totally up for reading more just to get to his book. Ella was the most relatable but not really because of the stripping but I a world we’re money is everything and there’s only one character who doesn’t have money and the life of a rich person is definitely going to be the more down to earth one.
There was few thinks I didn’t like, the boys could cook there own supper so Ella done it? Look up a recipe and follow it (that private school isn’t worth it is?) Also the slut shaming in this book was horrible, judgement was made way before anyone knew Ella! I hate the label slut anyways I think everyone is entitled to do what the like without getting slandered for it and if you don’t agree with the way they live there life that’s fine you don’t have to live that way. Although Ella was strong in this book and didn’t let it get to her.
The ending had me shocked like not the what but the who got me.
I have a funny feeling these books with addictive, fun and totally problematic.
