Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
5.0
How have I not read this sooner?!
This book is beyond perfection, and dare I say it, I think it might be my favourite book OF ALL TIME.
Everything about this book was incredible. The world building was unique and just insanely gorgeous. It truly felt like a nightmare within a fairytale and honestly, this is one of the best worlds I have ever read about.
The characters...my babies Sarai & Lazlo...oh my hearts! I love love love Sarai, her character is so beautiful and Lazlo is just the perfect one for her. A new favourite OTP. I loved all of their scenes when they were together. I even liked the other Godspawn, even Minya, her character was so well written it was hard not to like her.
The writing in this book is so beautiful and lyrical. The only problem I had was that I had to read it in complete silence otherwise I missed parts but that didn’t really bother me because it meant that I could take it all in. Laini’s writing in this book is just...a complete masterpiece. I loved the slow start to the build up of that heartbreaking end (oh yes, my heart did break. I cried for the last 20 or so pages).
I am so sorry to myself for waiting so long to read this. This book deserves so many stars and as I said, it is likely going to be my favourite read of all time so far! I can’t wait to jump into Muse of Nightmares in the new year!
