The It Girl by Ruth Ware
Did not finish book. Stopped at 31%.
y’all i tried reading this. i honestly just couldn’t continue 😭 this is my first book by Ruth Ware and i really hope that her other books are a bit better.
things i liked:
« the tea between April, Hannah and William at the beginning. honestly i wanted MUCH more tea about it 😩
things i disliked:
« the writing style. it was my biggest issue with this book that prevented me from reading this further. i just couldn’t handle it lol it was WAY too stuffy. i don’t even know how to explain it. honestly this type of writing style is my least favourite.
« the unnecessary information dumped on the reader. like, writing about things that are sooo pointless. it felt like the author only wanted more word count and that’s pretty much it lmao.
« the characters. i didn’t feel the connection with any of them in this book. i didn’t care what happened to April nor who killed her, or anything that was even happening in the book.
« the “after” chapters. they were so damn boring i can’t even—
« the pace of the book. i honestly feel like i’ve been reading this book for a month and it was putting me into a reading slump. it’s so crammy with words 😩
overall, i wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. especially if you don’t like slow paced thrillers. this book is not for me 🤷🏻♀️
