The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
5.0
This book is EVERYTHING. I'm giving it all the stars in the world.
It is so HILARIOUS. The kids' (mostly Lucy's and Talia's) jokes at Linus' expense got me laughing out loud. I honestly couldn't stop smiling. And when I wasn't smiling, I was crying. Haha.
It is so ADORABLE. The relationship between the kids, Arthur and, later on, Linus is priceless. Their interactions are so genuine and full of emotion, I can't even...
The author created such a beautiful world. The imagery alone is quite wonderful, but what makes this book so brilliant is actually its characters. They are all so lovable, even the Antichrist, if you can believe that.
The parallels to today's society are pretty noticeable. This book is basically about humanity and its struggles. Or at least that's how I see it.
So don't hate or fear something you don't understand. Don't judge based on unreliable information. Learn from your mistakes. Open-mindedness goes a long way. And for the love of God, always to what's best for you and never be afraid to follow your dreams. There is happiness for everyone. ❤️
T. J. Klune's writing is quite lovely. It's flowy and funny, but so emotional and meaningful.
Oh, and the transformation Linus goes through? That's just marvelous, pure magic, if I say so myself.
