I struggled with this one. Queenie has trauma and is currently experiencing some major life changes that have triggered her to act out. She's putting her health and safety at risk. She's spiraling and while yes there is humor this was a sad read.

I was very upset with Queenie's friend group. I refused to believe that multiple women, one of which who is a psych student would not speak up or give her the hard truths. I felt like there was a lot of enabling going on.

As someone who has been in interracial relationships, I was not surprised by the mico aggressions and racism by not only the men interested in fucking her but her ex showed. I know in the TV series her fear of black men was explored. I have not seen the series only and interview which led me to believe that it would happen in the book. It did not.

I felt like the end of his was anti-climatic and Queenie still has a lot of healing and maturing to do. This book would be a great discussion piece.
