Marcus by Anna Hackett
3.0
I'm not normally into military/action romances, but I still liked this one. Marcus was super yummy, and I really enjoyed how both the MCs secretly liked each other before they got together. The world building was good, too, without being overwhelming with the details.
My main problem with the story is just that it felt too rushed. Once the MCs hooked up, they were suddenly, completely in love. And of course, Marcus does the macho thing and pushes her away when he feels she's affecting his job. But then they get back together two days later, and they're super emotional, like they were a couple forever and split up for ages. It was just a bit much. (And I also had a hard time believing that a self-described party-girl became a language expert in 6 months.)
Despite how I feel about the pacing of the romance in the book, it was an enjoyable read, and I look forward to trying the next one in the series.
