Bingo Love is a short graphic novel about two women - Hazel and Mari who met at Church Bingo in the 1960's. They become best friends and then fall for one another. Mari's grandmother catches them kissing and they are separated. Fifty years later, they are both at Church Bingo. Will they have a second chance romance?
This graphic novel is amazing. The illustrations are bright, crisp and colorful. I thought there was a nice balance between text to pictures and was impressed at the story the author and illustrator told. There are obvious ramifications for them having a second-chance romance and I thought those were dealt with honestly and thoughtfully. I also loved the family aspect of this romance. The story has a beautiful ending that had my eyes feeling misty.
I recommend this graphic novel to everyone! If you are new to graphic novels, this is a beautiful one to dive into the genre.
