Too Good to Be True by Carola Lovering

Did not finish book. Stopped at 5%.
never read anything by carola lovering before, but after reading this one i’m not gonna lie, i’m reluctant to pick up the others. 😭 unless the other books are better than this one.

my main issue was burke. literally up until his journal entry, i could’ve gotten on board with the story for a little more time but his first journal just put me off completely. i really don’t wanna follow a pov from someone like that, it was excruciating.
skye also was naive as hell sometimes which annoyed me too at first, but as i said above, i still could’ve continued with the story regardless of that. she completely dismissed her friend’s opinion without even considering it lol.

the writing style also wasn’t that great in my opinion, i mean “money was tighter than a virgin’s pussy”? c’mon now. there are other ways to express it. i just found it really cringe and put off from what was going on.

i only got 5% through the book, but i think i’m starting to realise i don’t really tend to enjoy wife/husband cheating thing in books, especially if we get the cheater’s pov. all the books i’ve read that had this trope weren’t well done at all, so i might avoid that in the future. 😂
