i only partly agree with the overall philosophy but it was mostly just the main character’s personality and the way he viewed the world which was really interesting to me. he was also at times quite relateable. do i think this book is slightly overrated? yes? i think so. it didn’t change my life but i enjoyed it enough so who cares. 

this book also prompted me to search up the last guillotine execution in france AND IT WAS 1977??!?!!! WHAT THE FUCK??!?!!
