The Minister's Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne
reflective
slow-paced
1.5
A fairly simple story about a minister who decided to extend a sermon’s metaphor long past reasonableness. It’s interesting, but the didactic lesson to be taken from it feels to have lost some of its surprise by the length of the story, especially considering the climax is clearly laid out fairly early on.
