Ghost Knight by Cornelia Funke
4.0
I'll admit, I was sceptical 'A perfect English ghost story' written by a German?
The only story by Cornelia Funke that I've read previous to this was The Thief Lord, which I read many years ago. The Ghost Knight was easy to read (which is unusual for a translation), so much so I probably wouldn't have realised it had been translated. Lots of children would probably be able to relate to Jon and his situation (his mum getting a new boyfriend), and for children in a similar situation being sent away is the worst possible outcome.
