Secrets in Death by J.D. Robb

mysterious tense medium-paced

3.0

this could have easily been a 5-star read. it started amazing and it ended the same and the entire story was super cool and I loved it
but sadly around page 140 this one scene happened that I hated and I was like cool this just dropped to 3 stars
here is the thing: i do like trina as a character but for fuck's sake just accept the fucking no it's been like 30 books.
like trina keeps saying ohh you need to do something with your hair and eve keeps saying no thanks I don't want to and then trina keeps pushing and in the end she just does it
STOP IT
make her fucking accept the no it's not that hard.
it goes like this: eve says no trina is like okay your loss. at some point eve herself reaches the point where she's like urgh I need to do something with my hair then she goes to trina. like sure trina would get a heartattack but hello this would be 5million times better. OR
eve says no trina backs away and eve goes like yoo wait no your supposed to push me
that could also be acceptable. and I mean I got that sort of scene between eve and summerset in book 8 I should be able to get this kind of scene for eve and trina in book forty-fucking-five.
either that or trina stops showing up. i cannot keep dealing with this it's annoying

and then I kept reading and I started to feel a little bad about the 3 stars i already gave it in my head but then I remembered that scene and i'd feel good about it again
and then roarke said: juno was the wife of zeus.
excuse me. hera was zeus' wife. juno was jupiter's wife. stop mixing roman and greek gods like this. this is one of the few things I remember from latin class do not do this to me. in a normal book it would have lowered the 5 stars to 4.75 stars for a minute I thought oh so this means it gets 2.75 stars but that would have been way too mean like 3 stars is pushing it but I am petty so whatever.
