What a roller coaster this book was! Even though I am listening to the series out of order, I listened to book 1 and saw that book 3 arrived in the mail. Did I want to know what happened or did I want to wait for book 2 to arrive and listen in order? I wanted to know what was happening with Evy and Wyatt.
It is a series, yes, and told in sequence. Book 3 immediately begins where book 2 must have left off, but that did not diminish the thrill ride on iota that I hadn't read that particular battle. Maybe some spoilers for when I get to book 2 (listening to it now) but the way Kelly Meding tells the story, there is backstory to before book one anyway which lets us in on why Evy ticks the way she does.

Excellent action and storytelling. Evy just keeps on keepin' on, kickin' ass when ass needs to be kicked. Every time there looks like even a semblance of some relaxation time, some crappe hits the fan and she and the squad are back into the thick of it.
Evy seems to be the epicenter of it. Is she more special than she or anyone else realizes? Is she a key to something?
I know she takes on each challenge, sometimes getting it wrong. She is in someone else's body with someone else's memories and thought processes mixed in with hers. She's tough and resilient and wants to do the right thing for the right reasons. She just keeps pressing forward.
Definitely recommend.
