Pop Goes the Weasel by James Patterson

To be honest, this story kind of fell flat after how much I loved "Cat and Mouse." I enjoyed the story being written differently: the guilty party is known all along and the difficulty comes in trying to successfully prosecute the suspect as he has diplomatic immunity. I felt as if the story didn't explore this theme enough. Why did Shafer feel the need to waive immunity and take his chances in court?

Further, the Four Horsemen being killed at the end felt disappointing. I wish that they had been kept alive through another book and left Cross spinning to the find the killer. The only reason I'm not totally against it is that them dying led to Christine being found and Alex getting to meet his son.

While the story fell flat, the cliffhanger definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, and I'm excited for the next book!
