Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

5.0

If there were more than 5 stars on goodreads, I'd give this book all of them without thinking twice. The trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend is a gripping, thrilling, mesmerising, adventurous and more. You name it, the book has it. The book introduces readers to Morrigan Crow, a cursed child because she is born on eventide (starting of new age).

Morrigan's father is a rich man. The town she lives in blames everything wrong and ill happening to them on her because she is born on eventide. She has to apologise to everyone even when she has nothing to with the uneventful things happening in their life. She also has to live a prophecy where at age 12 she will die when eventide takes place again. To everyone's shock eventide comes early when she is only 11.

Before she could die though, gingerish odd man comes and saves her, his name is Jupiter North. He illegally takes her to Nevermoor, a free state which she has no clue existed till that day.

Now here comes the Harry potter elements, the way Harry is taken, somewhat similarly Jupiter steals her from her family for good. As Harry is introduced to a new world and new school, Morrigan is introduced to a new world and new school more like a society. This story is different though and very exciting in its own individual plot. The major difference is that here Morrigan has to give four trials (entrance exams) to be a part of the Nevermoor as she is illegaly brought here.

It was so whimsical and the similarity of trials in Nevermoor can be drawn along the similar lines of Hunger games but better. Ugh I loved this book so so much

AND THAT PLOT TWIST OH GOD! Never saw it coming. A truly mind boggling one. I was literally so excited, so thrilled, so scared turning each and every page! Specially during the fourth trial. Reading that gave such an adrenaline rush. It was like I was there in the book with Morrigan facing it all!

If I am given a change to live in a story ever, Ill rush to be in Nevermoor! Its a middle grade book but is recommended for all ages.
