Barbarian Mine by Ruby Dixon
4.0
Barbarian Mine starts where Barbarian Lover ended. Harlow hears some voices and before she knows it she's kidnapped by unknown alien. I found it funny how Rukh thought she a creature, at first. Harlow hadn't even woken up yet and he already had possessive thought about her.
I love how clueless Rukh is! I don't understand what it's about these clueless characters that doesn't understand things, like Rukh didn't know what was happening to him when his khui resonated for Harlow. I actually keep forgetting that these guys have horns for some reason.
The romance is one of my favorites in the series. Most of the couples are 'will we, won't we' but that's not the case with Barbarian Mine. Rukh and Harlow are ready to do anything for each other. Rukh grew up thinking the other aliens are the bad ones but he's ready to go to them to keep her safe. I thought it was very sweet that Harlow wants to take care of him, like brushing his hair.
I still have a problem with time jumps. I get why it was necessary with the plot but I'm just not fan of them. It was very interesting to see Rukh become less clueless and see his relationship develop with Harlow. I mostly enjoyed the book but I didn't understand how Rukh survived alone for so long and how Harlow gave up so easily.
