A little cute and nerdy friends – to – lovers romance anyone?
Yes?
Then Carpentry and Cocktails is the EXACT fit for you. Willa has just returned to Green Valley with her tail between her legs after she ran away as a teenager to marry her high school boyfriend. With a devastating divorce under her belt; all she wants to do is put her life back together and get back on her feet – what she doesn’t need is to have a crush on her landlord!
Everett, is a man with a crush on his tenant; though he knows that Willa is a skittish one. But what he is more afraid of is the fact that she would see Everett as nothing more than a friend and a landlord – his past experience with woman hasn’t exactly been stellar – but he has a plan this time. He will be the one who will be there for her; throughout while making her feel cherished and safe, but most of all, that he is worth taking a chance on.
This was a cute romance – I loved the nerdy aspects of both Willa and Everett – but I really wished there had been more to their romance; a slow burn build – up would have been an amazing add on to the plot – because Willa and Everett’s romance felt way more instantaneous when compared to how it had started off!
But it was the fact the Everett was opening up a game shop and his nerdy side that made this for a delightful read for yours truly!
