This month picking random books has really helped my reading. This was another surprising read. Loved the LGBTQ+ element. Our main character is a Secondary in a world of Storm Singers. Secondary are basically aides of the storm singers, they are bonded as slaves or something similar even though they are the ones with actual magic and the former just channelise their magic to change climate.

The central character, Miles is a secondary of his sister and their family is considered royalty. He though escapes because he wants to be a healer and not a puppet or a battery for his sister. But things are very brutal, witches are killed mysteriously and one such witch while dying asks Miles to promise him to find out why and by whom was he murdered. That's how he meets Tristan who is an immortal sent to examine what is happening to the souls of these witches after dying.

This book was full of mystery, hints of slow burn gay romance, vulnerable family dynamics, and lots and lots of magic.
