This book was published in 1999 so I almost feel like I shouldn't rate it at all. I don't think I would've read it if I'd realized it was from that long ago, as older romances often have objectionable content for me. I really like this author, but it seems she has evolved in her craft from when she wrote this versus what she's released in the last 5-10 years. I have to say I like the new stuff better.

One of the things that threw me off, and led to the book being a lot longer than it needed to be, was the omniscient narration. We get glimpses into the minds of every single person encountered in the story... which I guess is good if you're into world building, but for me it just felt like needless distractions.

Anyways the MMC wasn't particularly deep or believable or likable so that kinda sucked.
