The Amen Corner by James Baldwin

4.0

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about reading a play, but once again (no surprise) Baldwin makes some interesting and complex points of discussion regarding the Black community and the church specifically the role the church plays in it's treatment of Black women. It isn't my favorite of the works that I've read from Baldwin this year, but its still worthy of praise. I'm currently working through his entire backlist with Erica and Josh.
