The Rest of the Story by Tal Bauer
5.0
This was so tooth-achingly sweet, I almost died. That's Tal Bauer for ya, making outrageously cheesy stuff actually work.
I absolutely adore this author and his writing, ok? But, oh boy, this book was way too long. Don't get me wrong, I loved the characters, all of them are so precious, but it was overwhelming to keep reading about how much Shea and Morgan love eachother.
Anyway, their relationship is so beautiful. They actually fall in love first, not lust over eachother like sex crazed teenagers. I guess that was my favourite part, that their friendship developed over time and turned into a love story without being focused on the physical aspect of it.
The last part of the book was everything. That team was everything. They deserved every bit of success and praise and adoration.
I did not expect that twist at 80%. Holy shit. My heart sank when I got to that part. I could barely read between all those tears. So yeah, the last 20% saved this book for me. I was leaning towards 3 stars, but those last few chapters... OH MY GOD. Their resilience and their bond. Just.. beautiful.
