The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center

emotional funny hopeful fast-paced

4.5

Katherine Center is one of my fave authors and definitely an auto-buy author for me. Within the first 2 chapters, I was already alll the way in and wanted to give the book a hug already.  Center writes characters that are so real and characters you definitely root for. I feel like she's the queen of realistic romance (realistic fiction + romance) :) Our main character, Emma, has been a caregiver for her father who has a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).  I thought the TBI representation was great and we also get a sense of what caregiving can look like, especially for young adults caring for a parent.  I'm not sure I LOVED Charlie, to be honest, but I loved how Emma put herself out there and SHE loved Charlie.   I'm always so happy to pick up Center's books but then immediately sad that it's over.  This was excellent in print and on audio!
