Can the god of zombie or zombie-like apocalypse please anoint a basic decision tree for these novels, maybe etch it on a stone tablet or two, and deliver it to your legion of followers. There really isn't any need for another novel in this sub genre. We've read or seen it over and over: mass die off, a few survivors diatribe their angst while concurrently racing through the Wal Mart merchandise grab and the you're-going-to-die undead obstacle course, and then one of three endings:
1) everyone dies!
2) a few survive!
3) cure!

There, a spoiler summary of about 10,000 zombie novels.

Caveat: this one was well written, nice characterization and prose. Weak ending.
