📝 This was a contemporary Indian take on Clueless/Emma. For the first 20-30% of the book, I was worried all the plot points would be too predictable, but the book is its own thing and took some different paths than what I'd expected as the story progressed. We also see a lot more of the MMC as his own person, which was good.
The story follows two 20-somethings who have been close friends since childhood. The FMC is a blogger who wants to become a matchmaker and the MMC owns a struggling pub. He knows he loves her but she doesn't realize she loves him (or how he feels about her) yet.
🎧 The story is dual POV but we only get one (female) narrator. There were a couple times where I didn't agree with the acting choices but overall it was a good performance.
🌶️ This is fully closed door, but I almost didn't mind that, because any events happening behind said door don't show up until basically the end of the book. The story was all about the tension/longing and miscommunications between them.
🏳️🌈✊ Story is set in Mumbai and almost all the characters are from Mumbai. We get lesbian and bi rep in side characters.
