Portraying the lives of marginal people known as rubber farmers in Sumatra under the new order regime. A story of Saman, a former Catholic priest and human right activist, he watched several injustice issues happened in his hometown and started to help those family from losing their land against palm oil company. And then, in another place, there are four woman who juggling their live, career and love.
I like how this book bravely enough to speak about humanity and perspective of sexuality from people in that era. This book comes out promising but unfortunately the plot and character development are poor.
