The Night Eaters, Book 1: She Eats the Night by Marjorie Liu

I really liked this graphic-novel!!
Sana Takeda's art is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The cover and it's composition is some of the best I've ever seen, Sana's use of color really makes the scenes feel real and like they are jumping off the page, and just the design of the characters, plants, and setting simply have me stunned and on the floor. Seriously, this book should be given an award just for the art. But, it doesn't stop at the art, the story is also great! It is truly spooky and there is a mystery that goes in more depth than I was expecting. The characters are thoroughly fleshed out, with backstories that expand your views on characters as the story goes on. I also love that the story managed to be spooky, angsty, and a little pessimistic in ways that you can love, all while having some heart that it's not afraid to show. So, absolutely give it a read and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
