Definitely my favourite Bridgerton novel so far, though that might be because it’s the first book where I don’t know the plot in advance due to the TV series and because the plot was actually different from the first two books (I swear books 1 and 2 are basically the same). A gripping, romantic, fast paced easy read that I accidentally kept staying up late to read, oops.

It’s not perfect and there were moments that annoyed me; being a ripped off Cinderella story meant we didn’t get off to the best start, but it ended up being one of the better, more believable adaptations of this trope I’ve come across.

What I will say is that now I have read three of Quinn’s novels, I am starting to notice some repetition. All three initial intimate scenes are basically the same, and at least two of the three male love interests have ‘burned’ for their partner. I am also getting tired of the whole ‘desire at first sight’ narrative and hope things switch up in later novels. GIMMIE A SLOW BURN!

In a nutshell, gimmie more just not more of the same.
