A very sultry slow-burn book about desire, infatuation, identity - who we want and who we want to be. Beautiful prose, v seductive and sensual with lots of that sweet sapphic tension and a classic bittsersweeg ending. I struggled at first with the lack of speech marks but grew to love how what they said and what they so desperately wanted to say, bled together. Big fan of butch representation and unapologetic lesbian solidarity - her friendship with the headmistress meant so much to me - v seductive summer read
