I didn’t know I needed a story of Latine pirates in the Caribbean until I read this story. The tapestry of magic, queer, nonbinary, and resistance that the author weaves  throughout the story and within the characters felt both surprising and like home. The characters of Bas, Mar, and Dami are full of life, depth, and queer joy. It’s a story that made my heart full and left me wanting to spend more time with the characters with whom I grew to love.
