Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

4.0

Whew, this book was a whirlwind! I flew through the audiobook. Yellowface is a satirical look at the publishing industry through the lens of a white female author who steals a manuscript from a successful Chinese author after she passes away. It is biting and compulsively readable. You will certainly not like the narrator as her morality continues to bend. I liked the commentary about authors taking from others and about the shifts in publishing regarding the perception of who gets published and becomes hugely successful.
