Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith

5.0

It's been years since I've rated a book five stars, so that should be enough to show you how much I liked this. Rowling has given me another favorite series.

I think taking the case to a personal level this time was a fantastic decision. You already care about the characters, so now you're extra invested in the case. I really liked how the case developed, and I was continuously trying to guess who the killer was (something that I couldn't really do with the previous two).

The relationship between Cormoran and Robin was perfect. I love how it develops little by little with each book. I love how Robin is portrayed, and how Matthew's toxic behaviour is shown. We, as readers, see that Matthew's a manipulative asshole. Robin, from within the relationship, cannot see it. I was very surprised that she got married in the end, but it's understandable. The characters and their relationships are very realistic and I love the book for that.

That final line was perfect.
