Guinn doesn't just delve into Manson, he talks about the cultural and societal implications of that time that allowed him to grow. It's a fascinating look at the 60's and Manson. I was blown away by the sections on how the Beach Boys had connections to Manson. Even if you are interested in the subject matter Guinn pulls you in. If you haven't read his work on Jonestown it's equally stellar
