Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe

I read this when it first came out, but of course it has blown up in the book banning world over the course of the last 3 or 4 years. Even though, you know, this was originally published for adults, though it does have high teen appeal. Still considered an adult graphic novel memoir.
But I digress. There's so much to love in this book from Kobabe, who explores eir own struggles with gender and sexuality. I'm sure there are plenty of teens and adults alike that can relate to the things Kobabe encounters, and it's an important story for those that might not generally see this kind of representation. Can't wait to talk about it at book club tomorrow!

There's a lot to love about this graphic memoir that adequately explains gender and asexuality. It's raw, honest, and emotional. The text is somewhat simple, but it still portrays big emotions. An important graphic novel!
