Spirit Crossing by William Kent Krueger

3.0

Spirit Crossing is just one of many in a long series, and my first by the author. I would say that this book requires prior knowledge of the characters in the series to fully appreciate what is happening. I found myself feeling somewhat disconnected from the narrative. The mystery was intriguing, but the story was more character driven than I prefer. The abundance of characters was a challenge for me. I couldn’t keep track of them all. The immersive atmosphere was the highlight of this book. I really love a beautiful nature scene. I will say that the plot was a bit slow at times, and a bit repetitive. Despite all that, I appreciate the way the mystery was presented and developed. Overall, this was just an okay read for me. If you choose to read these books, I highly suggest you start from the beginning of the series to truly appreciate the stories.
