Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan
5.0
5 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
• My heart is bursting with so much love for Archer. This is one of the most beautiful romance stories I have read. It’s by no means a grand romance, it’s a beautiful love blooming like the first flower of spring after a long harsh and cold winter.
• Archer and Bree were both two individuals that were haunted by grief and trauma of their painful past. Yet, once they found one another.. their deep wounds began to heal.
• I felt the intense emotions and the pain gripping Bree whenever she experiences a PTSD episode. I rarely see authors manage to represent the intensity of this condition yet Mia Sheridan nails it. She effectively used the rule of “show don’t tell” in this situation and realizing what triggered it without the character telling us.
• Archer’s disability was excellently showcased, which was his inability to speak. It is not easy to write about a character with disability especially when that disability is handled powerfully. Although it was hard to visualize the usage of sign language since all their conversations were written, but it was heartwarming to know that they spent a good amount of time talking to each other in sign language.
• I loved the romance it was soul-stirring, heart-warming and pure. The love and passion between them filled my heart with tenderness. Their love began by giving each other little pieces of each until they gave the whole of them. The joy I felt for their happiness and the sorrow I felt for their sadness I pain, those feelings felt truly real and raw.
• This book sends a message that it is not someone’s disability that defines them, it is who they are as a person. It is not a burden to love someone with disability, it is a privilege to share this love with them. It is not because of sympathy and pity that someone could fall in love with a person with a disability, it’s because you are willing to love them wholly, disabilities or not, you accept all of who they are, you see all of who they are and you love it all.
• I love this book, I love the characters, I love the simple yet powerful romance. I will miss them.
